Elliot became a bit more of a responsible minded twin even from a young age. He took to looking after his sister as she started to show clumsy behaviors. But no matter how hard he tried, he couldn't seem to stop misfortune from visiting Ellie. He watched as time and time again things happened that he couldn't stop. A sense of foreboding lingered in his mind as he lived day to day. He started trying to learn to dance and sing at school and He also started writing songs when he could, though most of them were juvenile and silly. He would sing them to his friends for laughs. But he never stopped worrying about Ellie. The day she broke her arm, he watched her fall from their outdoor playset and tried to help her, only achieving making it worse. He felt horrible and blamed himself for her falling. He didn't expect things could get worse when Ellie told a story at school that was missing some details she forgot. Child services was called. He was horrified when they came by to remove him and Ellie from their home. 

Ellie was terrified through it all. She clung to Elliot, who attempted to comfort her, but to no avail. Together, the twins saw through several court cases that eventually settled with them being forced to say good bye to their parents. They were put up for adoption and taken in by a Skarmory and Raticate pair. After completing their second year of elementary school, they were forced to move away from Mossdeep City and relocate to Mauville. They spent the rest of their ten years of high school living there in misery as they never really took to their new adopted parents lifestyle. However, by age 17, neither Ellie nor Elliot could remember their real parents or their home town. 

In a stroke of luck that brought a winning lottery ticket to their adopted parents, Ellie and Elliot packed up to travel by cruise ship across the ocean to a land they'd never even heard of before. Upon arrival, both twins found they liked Faelva, the city they came to visit. During a long night of discussion, they grabbed the meager belongings they had at the time and ran away from their adopted parents. They managed to move into an apartment in Pastel Plaza and sought employment at the Theater.
